Photos Submitted to ETNIES Photo Contest *UPDATED 22SEP FOR VOTING PHASE*
Lens: DA 55-300 Camera: Pentax K-7 Photo Location: Auguille du Midi (3800m)

I just came across this and since it was free to enter, I thought, what the hell, why not.

etnies The Planet is Your Playground Photo Contest

The below three photos were taken during an alpinism trip to Chamonix, Mont-Blanc in France at the Augille du Midi. The clouds are like that because the base of the mountain was receiving HEAVY amounts of rain. I would be lying if I said I wasn't skeptical to climb that day. But once we broke through the perpetual gray, the a scene of the cleanest white clouds I've ever seen unfolded beneath me. An hour later (because I insisted to my guide to let me take the photos below), and I would follow their exact footsteps.

Taken in July, 2011

Trailblazers

Framed in Granite
*I gave this photo to my sister (a 13 year old aspiring athlete) right before deploying to Afghanistan as a gift when I visited during Christmas - I wanted to give something that would motivate and inspire her to be as in love with exploring the world as I am - I printed it at 60cm x 90cm and had it framed. It's now displayed above her bed

Preparing to Descend
*Some of you may have seen this image before - this is the same image that was submitted to Duplo's 21 LTD Photo Contest.

Thanks for looking, and I hope you enjoyed these like I do

Beautiful shots. Alas I had to scroll to see them which made it a little harder to appreciate them but they are wonderful. Love the first one the most.

Thank you very much everyone This is the type of photography that I love to do, and hope to have more opportunity to. I kept saying I would, but I never did - I need to put these on my walls when I get back home...

Thanks again, I really appreciate it

Hey all - I just realized the voting window had opened lol

If you think I've taken these images well and then captured the theme of "The World is your Playground," please vote for my photographs - that trip to Hawaii would be sweet

All are great, but I'm partial to the first one - the striking scale of the scene by inclusion of the couple in the composition is impressive.
