Pulled into our campground and I went out on a dirt road and into the field to see if I could spot any deer or antelope and happened upon these guys who were out for a stroll.

It's good to meet the locals. These are very handsome birds.

The bird on the left in the second photo really shows how brilliantly colored these guys are. These birds can disappear so fast it always is amazing when someone is able to get off a good photo and you managed two. Thanks for sharing them.

First pic, they almost look like they're racing. I like the look of them in the tall grasses.

Nice catch, Bob. I'm like Dave, the term wild turkey brings up a mental image unrelated to that of a bird.

They were almost our national bird, the eagle won out though.

I think I surprised them, when they saw me they stepped up the pace, glad you like the shots here and they are quite beautiful feather wise.

haha! I love seeing these guys! When I used to live in a subdivision in a country type setting there were 12 of these guys that would walk the streets sometimes coming up driveways and looking in windows. I thought it was so strange till I learned the neighbours feed them in their backyards.

Great shots Bob! Love the three walking away from you. thanks for sharing!
