"Lily" Bug
Lens: Tamron 90 2.8 macro Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Garden ISO: 100 Aperture: F5.6
Posted By: tessfully, 07-13-2012, 08:11 AM

I went out early this morning to photograph a new lily that I only got one bloom from...my photos of the lily are just okay, but I was treated to a wee surprise. Is it just me or does he look like a colourful fish with legs??

And then he started to groom himself like a cat!

Great set and I love the contrast of the colors on the bug and the white leaf, well taken images.

Excellent series Tess. I've got a lot those little bugs here, it's a leaf hopper, they come in all kinds of colors.

Very nice pictures as usual, Tess.

Of course, you know how to handle this 90mm macro lens ... I never could do such things with mine ... which I recently sold !

Nice colours on that bug. The insect world is simply extraordinary in its diversity.

Leaf Hoppers are very cool. Thanks for identifying it bluestringer. I have never seen one with such beautiful colouring. Can the change thier colours depending on the environment?

I get along with this lens in so many circumstances. It just suits the way I see I think. I also quite like the Pentax 35 and I would like a good wide angle zoom one day ... but it is like wrestling with myself to take the Tamron 90 off my camera! Thanks for the nice comments JP!

Yep... insects really wow me... they always have and even moreso now that I can photograph them with a maco lens. Thanks always Bruce!

Jerry, you are on an amazing journey right now with your photography, and at the moment it is not bugs. Maybe one day, and then you'll find them. Thanks for the nice comment!!
