ISO 3200, lets see what you got
Posted By: Gooshin, 01-25-2008, 09:32 AM

in light of whats going on in the "news and rumors" section with regards to the new camera development, and the senseless FPS and ISO wars

i dug around and found some ISO 3200 shots that i have from my K100D, processed in adobe lightroom only.

lets see what everyone else has (if they ever dare venture into ISO 3200 land )

because personaly i am very exctied for the K20's ability to shoot in ISO 6400, and the supposed claims that at 3200 it will have the quality of our camera's 1600, if not better!

Pentax 43mm Limited @ f2.0 and 1/20 shutter ISO 3200

if anyone wants to pixel peep the original,

one of the things that disappointed me the most in the upcomming K200D is that they dropped ISO 3200!! now i'm pretty much forced to buy the higher priced K20

Very unfortunate if you use it regularly! It's only because it's the same Sony sensor in the K10D as in the new K200D. I suspected you knew that?

BTW, excellent shot in the first post!!!

Regards,
Marc

Shot at a Blue Man Group concert, 70-200 f4.5 at ISO 3200

I shot most of the concert at 1600 and 3200, with the uneven lighting and strobes and all it was quite an adventure, specially since I did not use my flash on 99% of the shots as to not disturb the performers (I was sitting in the first few rows).

The 3200 shots are very grainy, but I was very surprised with the quality of the 1600 ones.

Here are a couple from last October. It was very dusty which causes complications with the reflection of the dust from the flash. The best way to combat this is to reduce the flash output (Metz 60 CT-4) and kick the ISO up. On top of that, it was the end of a long weekend and the temps were dropping quickly into the 30's by the time these shots were taken.

Both of these cars were doing in excess of 100mph as they crossed beneath the flags.

K100D 18-55 kit lens f5.6 160sec ISO3200

K100D 18-55 kit lens f5.6 125sec ISO3200

Good Luck,
FRANK

House movers, shot about 11pm in the rain (there's a few rain drops on the lens).
K100D, DA 18-55mm, 1/30, f/4.0, iso 3200 - no sharpening, no noise reduction To see similar shots after noise reduction and sharpening see => https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/post-your-photos/19094-midnight-house-mov...so-3200-a.html
