Badlands 2012 Part Two
Camera: K20D Photo Location: Badlands NP, South Dakota ISO: 100

Here's Part Two of my trip to the Badlands.

I woke up to a great sunrise to match the great sunset of yesturday.

A full day of hiking, climbing and photography was ahead of me, so after I filled up on oatmeal (easy to make when bike camping), I headed out.

The landscape here is otherworldly. Some of the trails take you back into the canyons where there is nothing but rock and dirt, nothing growing. Makes you feel like you are on an other planet.

More great shots. I love hte last 3 especially! Badlands areas just have an appeal to me that no other landscape can provide... Looks like you had a fun trip, for sure.

I was so looking forward to part II and you didn't disappoint. Great shots. Looks like you had good weather. The last time we were there it had been raining and the mud was like quicksand. You stepped into the slimy stuff and lost a shoe. That first sunrise shot is really special.

Thanks Jim, it was a very fun trip. I wish I could get back on the bike and head out again. People shouldn't have to work for a living

Thanks Susan. The weather was good, it stormed in the distance a few times. I wish it was a little cooler though. 100 degrees and it all reflecting back at you from the white rocks was a little much. I drank a gallon of water a day, but still was VERY hot.
