Arctic Butterfly

Freija Fritillaries are fairly common here in the late 'Spring' - more or less right now. Hard to get that beautiful bokeh since they tend to lie close to the ground out of the wind or snuggled up to a nice warm rock. These specimens were very docile due to the cold/windy day, luckily, since they are very active once they warm up a bit. Like many plants up here, you may notice that even the wings are glabrous or 'furry'. (I happen to like the head-on view, a butterfly with attitude.)
