Closer to the nymphs
Lens: Pentax-A 50 f1.7 Camera: istDS Photo Location: Mitchell Co. Ga.

I wanted to see if I could get closer to the nymphs I found the other day. So I put my A-50 f1.7 on tubes with a AF280T flash and diffuser on my istDS. Not bad, but I don't like the glare I get in some of the shiny parts. Soldier bugs and leaf foot bug nymphs..............

Great shots. I am going to have to pull out my extension tubes this week.

Thanks for sharing

You have done well to control the harsh light with the diffuser. Some white spots are inevitable expecially on the reflective parts of the subjects... generally, well captured as you are using single flash light.

Did you hand hold these shots or are they tripod assisted? They are gorgeous either way, just wondering.

Thanks all for the comments.

Grimmy2016, I do hand hold the shots, but I use either my AF280T or a Sunpak ringflash and shoot at 1/160.
