My first attempt at HDR and pretty much first pics with K100D!
Posted By: shaolin95, 01-25-2008, 05:08 PM

Hi!
First of all I am a total noob just coming from been a casual P&S user and trying to get into the SLR world. Just got my K100D and tried to do some HDR for fun...please be gentle.

Are those two dark spots dust on the sensor?
My monitor is all weird like when I turn it on the black looks extremely redish and I have tried tuning it but still is off so that doesnt help when editing pictures. I may end up buying another CRT or and LCD if they are any good for this.

I'd move a bit to the left and try again so the tree isn't there. Yep you need to clean your sensor.

Looks good to me! I like how you've tried to keep it looking real as well.

Unfortunately you are right - you do have dust spots. Hopefully you should be able to get them off by getting a giottos or peachtree air blower. Don't use compressed air!

Thanks for the comments! The right "tree" is actually my doorway...it was too cold in Utah that night so I took it from inside. LOL
I already got the Rocker Large coming in on Monday to clean it up as I was going to order it anyway. I really like this shot even though I am not sure how I did the tweaking for the HDR..hehe thats what noobs do. :-)
Thanks for the comments about trying to keep it real...I thought it was a bit too much but thats kind of what I am trying to do with HDR...not quite normal but not over the top...then again who knows what I will do tomorrow.
Then again, it looks much more "real" in my laptops LCD than it does on my CRT...do you recommend LCDs or CRTs for editing?
