A group of elk cows, calves, and yearling bucks posed obligingly for the tourists just off Trail Ridge Road, above timberline in Rocky Mountain National Park.

Well, mostly obligingly. (Heinrich got the same message from a mule deer.)

But then she got back on script:

Really enjoyed the series. Healthy looking animals for sure. The calves (as all young) are adorable.

wonderful shots here Jeff, they sure look good and fat. I took a few photos of elk here in Yellowstone and they looked skinny. Great captures.

Thanks Bob. Maybe the mild winter was good for the elk. I promise I didn't feed them any doughnuts.
