Osprey, Osprey and more Osprey
Lens: DA* 300 Camera: K5 Photo Location: Maryland ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/1000s Aperture: F5.6

Had a really good day on the river yesterday and there was no shortage of Osprey sightings (what an incredible bird)...

Look closely and you will see another Osprey young peeking out of the nest.

Last but not least, this was an incredible sighting for me viewing this through the K5's VF while it was unfolding - this Osprey did the typical "Water Pound To Shock It's Prey", right when he hit one of the shad (seen in the right side of the frame) jumped out of the water right where the Osprey pounded and it landed that far away from the kill zone, it was pretty awesome to see. BTW, this Osprey managed to get 2 shad with this one pound (he/she had 1 shad in each of it's talons)...

Great set Joe!

And the last shot - what a capture! I never knew they used such tactics to fish - very interesting and thanks for sharing.

Awesome shots! #7 my favorite. When I saw #6 I was wondering if that was a shad, then I read your description. Mmmm, shad!
