We need to start a thread of just GBH shots. Love the bird. Sort of the Afgan dog of the bird world - very classy.

I never tire of the GBH shots - and very nice shots indeed.

If only our wild ones here would let me get close enough for shots like this. I can sit on my deck and watch them come and go, and stop to fish, but as soon as I step foot off the deck (50 yards from the river) they take off.

Fascinating bird and nice photos. Like the first photo best.
Given time, whilst watching this bird, the potential of getting some "keepers" is high.
The bird will often stay put for a long time, it moves slowly, and also its movements let you know when it's about to take off, giving you just enough time to adjust settings for BIF mode.

Thanks for the compliments! Very much appreciated!!!

@slowpez - yes, I agree with the thread idea.

@stormtech - yep, these guys are tough in the wild, a little more relaxed in park areas though. These ones were in the wild, I was camouflaged in a kayak and used the tide to drift through the marsh and up on them...

@charliezap - what are you waiting for charlie, get out and get shooting!!!

@mickey - yep, I agree!
