Bugs and Gentle Giants
Posted By: tessfully, 07-25-2012, 04:52 AM

I have been sooo busy I can't find computer time!! Here are a bunch from the last two weeks.

My bear shots did not turn out as good as Norm's, even with shake reduction turn on, but I did get some good shots of a *very* menacing spider who did not like my camera!

Tamron 90 f2.8 macro

And I risked being attacked by a mass of wasps as well as falling out the window to get these...(the pictures where they swarmed me did not turn out)

cute little guy ---

Tamron 90 F2.8 macro with the 2x converter

Sigma 70 - 300 macro

Tamron 90 f/2.8 with the 2x converter

the black ones are very scary

Sigma 70 - 300 f/4 macro

and then they had a big fight... internal politics I guess

Tamron 90 with the 2x converter

a much more benign but fascinating subject

Tamron 90 f2.8

and finally yesterday, I used the Sigma 70 - 300 to get these

Great wasp shots, I hate those guys, they hide in beer cans and bite you inside the mouth, but I really love the moose shots, love those meeces to pieces
haha...don't tell me that really happened? Glad you liked the meeces!!

Awesome series Tess.I'll stick to bees gathering pollen. You can get close up and personal with them and they don't mind. When I was around 6 or 7 I got stung several times on the back of my neck by hornets and to this day I hate them. The moose shots are just like 3D-great.--charliezap

Those are all fantastic... but I especially like (and not sure why) the second to the last shot of the moose. Really interesting color and processing, and it's almost as if you caught him in a pensive mood.
