For those interested, Operation Migration is a non profit organization whose task is to assist whooping cranes that have been born in captivity learn the migration routes by training the birds to follow ultra-lite aircraft. The climax of the 1200 mile journey is the fly over at the Dunnellon airport, just before the birds reach their final destination.

All images were shot with a K10D. The in flight shots were taken using SMC A* 300/f4 + Tamron 1.4 teleconvertor. The on the ground shot were taken with a SMC FA* 43 Limited.
