Arnold the Cormorant!
Lens: D-FA 100MM F2.8 WR Camera: PENTAX K-5 Photo Location: Oxnard, Ca ISO: 80 Aperture: F2.8

Meet Arnold! He is a Cormorant bird. I met him at the beach as I was snapping pictures with a few friends. Arnold let me take a few of him. Arnold wasn't feeling all to well so we had to get the wildlife authorities involved to get him some medical attention.

We found him on Ormond Beach, in Oxnard California.

I heard today that Arnold was sent up to Santa Barbara to get the medical attention he needs.

I named him Arnold cause the road that leads out to Ormond Beach is Arnold Rd.

This is my first bird rescue ever. Felt good to know he is getting better.

Because Arnold can not I will - thank you for your compassion.

Nice shot - I love Cormorant's, they are pretty tough to get good shots of in the wild, they are very very skittish.

Arnold is looking rather world-weary here. Thanks for sharing this excellent shot and story, and for taking the time to help put Arnold back on track.

Great shot Eddie and I enjoyed your narrative as well, so glad you helped him out, we all need "a little help from our friends" at times. Bob

According to the guy that came to get him, he said that is his color... I also thought he was a bit on the oily side... Gotta find out if I can get a status on him.
