One of the most important decisions...
Posted By: paden501, 01-27-2008, 08:59 PM

... of my life.

Here are two photos of the engagement ring that I presented to my new fiance this evening

I took about a hundred photos of this thing before I finally worked up the nerve to 'pop the question'. I did some stobist stuff to get these shots. Nikon SB-25 flash setup off camera right through a homemade softbox (a shoebox, some tin foil and a white sheet). Fired via PC cables. Tinfoil reflector to camera left and toward the foreground.

She freaked out... i was trying to figure out a way to get a picture of the moment... but I thought she might get mad about that :-)

She said yes of course.

Congrats! Sure the picture is nice, but in the grand scheme of things, who cares? You're a very lucky man, and my best wishes to you and your fiance.

Thanks guys. I got a text message from her last night at about 4am... she said she's so excited that she can't sleep... so I guess I did good.

Exactly!!

Great work on the shots and congrats. Very nice choice on the ring as well. So will you stand with her at the alter or shoot your own wedding?

Scratch that, bad idea....

I already tried that idea and it got nixed.... Oh well....

I did talk her into letting me do the engagement photos though.

The challenge now is to find a wedding photographer that uses Pentax gear!!!
