Osprey, Hawks, a Finch, Mystery, Intrigue and Riches. . .

I finally had some time that I didn't owe to anyone else and I was able to get out with the camera.
Osprey nest at a local lake





Ferruginous Hawks I think







Ferruginous Dark Morph

Red Tailed Hawk



Gold finch

Superb set. The osprey and hawks blew me away. Not to take anything away from the lovely male goldfinch.

Thank you! The one that stayed on the nest was serious about guarding it and was making a bunch of noise while I was there.

Beautiful photos! #6 standing on the pole looks like he is trying to keep toes off the wire. I wonder how they don't get zapped?

I think I heard (but never tested) that you can touch one power line, its only a problem when you touch two and the current uses you or the bird as the arc. So if you don't have anything to do this Saturday, give it a whirl!!
