This afternoon I discovered a dragon from the Libellula genus in my garden. I grabbed my camera, changed lenses from the 10-24 to the Quantaray 70-300 which has a 1:2 macro possibility, shot 5 times before I discovered I had no memory card in the camera, ran inside, inserted the card and shot about a 100 photos is this creature.

4 hrs later the dragon was still sitting at the same fence post in my garden.... Thanks for letting me rush!!!

Very nice, love the background which is virtually featureless. Shows up the insect really well.

I had to laugh at your description of the shooting process. All that, and then the insect stays around.

Almost like he/she/it was having some fun at your expense. Who says nature has no humour.

Fantastic series. I have that lens, guess I need to use it more. I have not seen any dragons this year, not sure why. They are sometimes called snake charmers around here.
