Shot lightning for the first time tonight with a rare thunderstorm in Sacramento, CA

Thank you! And I had a Tripod with an exposure set for 30 seconds at ISO 100. Just kept taking 30 second exposures and had this one pop up right in front of me but it was a little farther than it appears. It was perfect

Not exactly unfortunately, It wasn't as close as it looks and the rest of the lightning strikes were more off into the distance. It was incredible to watch for once

aw man, great stuff!! I was shooting the benicia bridge last night and saw all the lightning strikes. decided to go with my plan A but was hoping some of you were catching all that! nice work.
