Various Birds
Lens: SMC Pentax M 400/5.6 Camera: Pentax K5 Photo Location: Waterloo ON ISO: 800 Shutter Speed: 1/750s Aperture: F11

Beautiful morning here in Waterloo today. Lots of birds on display during my morning walk.

I was out a little earlier than normal and the sky rendered very blue on this day.

Downy Woodpecker - love these little guys

North American Robin - very common but in the right light still pretty striking

Cedar Waxwing - first I've seen this year

House Finch - again very common bird but he/she looked good against the blue sky.

All shots Pentax K5, SMC Pentax M 400/5.6. ISO 800, f11 or so at 1/750 sec.

Wonderful series. Love the Downies and the Robin looks so attractive that you forget how common a bird he is. Thanks for sharing these.

Very sharp photos Tom, with great color too. You certainly have a nice variety of birds to photograph there.

Great shots of the Downy Woodpecker!

I have a couple year round residents of the same and am planning on working on capturing them this winter (for cabin fever relief).

I moved my suet holders to the front of the property and the woodpeckers are there all the time. They are social birds for the most part and will let you get fairly close to them.--charliezap

Nicely done Tom. I have gotten away from my bird shooting lately. Need to rethink that after seeing these. JIM
