Nice colors on the flowers but I really like #1.

#1 lovely! Noticed the noise on #2 and had this happen yesterday through using acdsee jpeg conversion instead of photoshop save to web, overwrote and ruined a couple of good shots, just wondered what you used?

The Ginko leaves are a winner in my book also. Fantastic texture and color.

Thanks, this was also my favorite, and one of the few times I actually have used black point (to blot out everything in the background).

Thanks deaning. #2 was an experiment. I use Apple's Aperture as the foundation for all of my editing, and then use various plugins. For this one I used Photomatix, with a twist. I used for input a -1.55 EV, a +2 EV, and then a 0 EV which I intentionally blurred heavily (and lightened up a bit more), just to see what would happen. I think this blur step created the noise, all of which came out of Photomatix, and none of which could be removed in Topaz DeNoise.

Here is the original image (which I prefer, BTW)
