Rupert, it's the Eyes, you are right

Hi

Lots is said about eyes and eye positions in portrait photography. Inspired by your pics but not wanting to hijack your contribution by adding these here to yours I start a new thread.

All these eyes seem to express something and I would be interested to see what interpretation people would attach at the bottom of each of them.

Greetings

Well, that first one makes me think of either Clint Eastwood or my Grandfather-in-law... malice combined with contempt

Super images... for the first three...

1. Where were you last night?

2. A scholar who cherishes the love of comfort is not fit to be deemed a scholar. Lao Tzu

3. Oh poop, I forgot to buy soap.

Hi

Thanks Tess, I knew these would yield humorous comments.

No. 3 - I personally like: Holy crap - did this come out of my nose ?

No. 4 "Who me ? - I didn't do it!"

The first one is a great image and I try not to use the word "great" often.
It's as good as any photo I've seen of these creatures.
The clear background and shape of his hair really pulls you into his eyes.
His look, to me, is "another person pointing a camera at me...what is it with humans?".
The slight tilt of the head is perfectly timed.
Lovely series.

Hi

Thanks, I am flattered. I spent an enormous amount of time on site there to take photos. As you probably know most of the time these creatures head movements are very unpredictable and fast. Heads never move slow, always fast and jerky. Therefore to get the right shot is more luck than skill. Still after a certain time and keen observation one can predict movements to a certain extend. I had a ball and the weather was kind.

1. Just exactly what are you planning on doing about it?
2. Just give me a minute here. I have to think about it.
3. Wish I had skipped those beans for dinner last night.
4. Me, no, no, I know nothing about how it got broken. Honest.
5. My word, that is one tall dude.
6. I wish I looked that good in this fur.
7. I love you mom.

What a wonderful series of photos. You really captured these guys so well. The eyes certainly have it here. Can't think when I have enjoyed a wildlife series more. TFS.

Those are some fabulous shots...and the group did well on the captions too! Wonderful thought to post this!

Still, all in all, I prefer my eyes in a beautiful woman...like Shelby! ...and I know what she was thinking here, but I'll never tell!

Great to see everyone have a little fun on PF.....a great site for photo friends to gather!

Hi

Thanks for everyone who replied and I like all the witty captions.

Susan, I did nor know beans can do this to you (or Macaques)

Rupert, I have a fair idea what she is thinking but my good upbringing is preventing me from disclosing it here.

Pbancr, thanks

Keep them coming these witty captions.

What a great series. I think the first one is particularly compelling with the eyes dominating the entire photo. Super job.
