Caterpillar
Lens: Tamron 90 macro f/2.8 Camera: K5 Photo Location: My yard ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/25s Aperture: F8

I have been enjoying the torrential rain, running out between showers to take photos. The colours are so rich and light beautiful. Here is one shot I quite liked. I think he was waiting out the rain to resume foraging.

thanks for looking!

The first thing I noticed here Tess was the wonderful "greens" you captured, they all blend so well to make this a pleasing photo.

Thank you Bob. The K5 is capable of capturing that richness... the soaking rains also helped. I am glad you liked the photo!

Thank you SJM... yes, there is a strand of web there. I wondered if it was noticeable.

Tess, such a richness of color and it is so sharp. Absolutely beautiful. I just ordered the Tammy and you are to blame so I may be picking your brain for some pointers (via PM) when it gets here if you don't mind.

Nice and sharp on the caterpillar. Also good to know I'm not the only one out in the yard with a camera on a rainy day!

What a wonderful presentation of a common creature. In course of only 5 or 10 minutes, I've seen two exceptional critter pics; bluestringer posted two very special pics of a lizard and now I see your outstanding photo in this thread. Super!

A very nice, vivid and sharp photo of a very hairy creature. You didn't try to pick it up did you?

Susan, you won't regret it! I do remember a few growing pains as I got used to DOF etc. but I was a complete newbie at the time. It is a wonderful lens especially on the K5. I am off for two weeks starting today. Can't wait to hear how you like the lens.

Beautiful details, Tess! This guy looks quite dangerous with all those spikes. I love the colors you've captured here. Just gorgeous! You always make me want to go out and grab a Tamron 90 macro - I wonder how many of them you've sold?
