Call it teenage angst?
Posted By: AKiss20, 01-28-2008, 08:30 PM

Hey all,

Was having some fun in photoshop, and Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings put me in a very angst-y mood. This is the result: C&C always welcome.

Both shot with K10D + FA50.

Cheers (or maybe not so much after these..)

Sorry, but the subjects don't do it for me. Try some Led Zep?

ahahaha thanks for the suggestion mate.

Unfortunately, im truly a product of my age. If any music was written after about 1800 or before 1998, I probably won't like it.

Very cool mood. Music is a great inspirer for photography. As for period music, I am a fan of rock bands paying tribute to the classical masters. For instance, Scatterbrain's 1990 song "Sonata #3", a tribute to Mozart's Piano Sonata #16 in C. Although that example is far less angst. I do like these photos.

Thanks! I am not a big mozart man myself, I like the romantic and baroque periods much more. Vivaldi and Bach are some of my favorite composers. Bach cello suites are to die for if properly done.

Thanks for the comments!

I studied Bach in college. Pretty much a requirement for music majors since music theory is based almost entirely around his concepts. Brilliant musician.

I don't particularly like Mozart either, but that Scatterbrain tribute was too cool. I like Tchaikovsky, Dvorak, Rachmaninoff. Of course, these guys all came after 1800, as did Samuel Barber.

Try some Final Fantasy (the band), Stereolab, Psapp, Vashti Bunyan or Beirut.. might cure your anger and give you some good inspiration :]

I almost like the first shot!

You can't beat it, but you can whip it. It's pretty good with a bit of sugar.
