Mr.&Mrs. hummingbird are back.
Lens: 100mm macro pentax--55-300 pentax Camera: K5 Photo Location: Saugus Ma.

Of course when the flowers are waning they come to me for nourishment to bulk up for their trip South..When the sun is setting they get very active for a good night's rest at the feeder.I took 8 shots and got 3 keepers which I consider a very successful shoot.I figure that they will be around for several weeks before they migrate.I'll be watching.---charliezap

Nice trio of keepers Charlie. We didn't have a whole lot of luck with our hummers this year - I think it was because we were gone last year so they have given up on us.

Great shots, Charlie! Mine have finally started to get used to me. I will try to get more pics this weekend. Yours are wonderful and I especially love the clarity and detail in the first shot!

Charlie, the exif data says your pics were taken at 1/100th of a sec. and no flash was used. If so it's pretty amazing the way you were able to freeze the hummingbird's wings. Or did you use a flash that wasn't recorded in the exif?

If I used the K5's on board flash it would show on the exif data but I used my Vivitar 285 HV flash which doesn't get recorded on the exif.--charliezap
