Very nice pics...I specially like the detail on the last one. Excuse my ignorance but was this with the kit lens or some other?

Nice! The first one almost looks like it's made of fiber optics!

(Yeah my inner geek is coming out!)

The water drops on the last one are simply amazing.

Very nice shots, heck better than 'nice', excellent. I couldn't pick a favourite from the 4 but must say that this lens produces stunning images in the right hands.

Kit lens huh!! I think you can buy 7-8 kit lenses for the price of this beauty.

I like #4 (actually like them all, but 4 the best), but I have a quick question about #4. It looks like bottom right 1/3 of the leaf looks a tad blurry. Is this because of the angle you were looking at (i.e., not straight above)? I still like it the best.

The "blurry" area is just "out of focus" (f/2.5)

Lovely photos. I like the number 1 the most (like the light and the out of focus blur). #4 is also a winner but that shadow bother me. Awesome pics/ beautiful work.

Very nice. The background is rendered quite smoothly.

Thanks for the reply, but let me follow up a bit if you will. Why wouldn't the extreme top portion also be "out of focus"? I guess what I am not understanding is, if you focus in the middle of the leaf (assuming this is where he focused), wouldn't just the center be "in focus", and everything else "out of focus"?

the blurred side of the leaf was behind the min. focus distance I guess

That should be the answer to your question.

Most excellent florals. I think my fave is the tiny pink orchids (?) with the taro leaf a close second. Do you know the name of that first flower? It is quite striking.
