Bird of prey: A closeup view of a flying Northern Harrier
Lens: DA*300/4 Camera: K5 Photo Location: Cacouna, Québec ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/1000s Aperture: F4
Posted By: jpzk, 08-17-2012, 05:32 PM

This is probably the first time I succeed in taking some close shots of a Northern Harrier and could actually get a couple of keepers. Most of the time, either they are too far or if close, they are too fast flying by.
I am including two shots, just to show both wings ... one at a time !

Hope you enjoy:

Thanks, baro-nite !

I am still surprised with the sharpness of that lens at F4 after a long time using it.

Cheers !

Beautiful shots of a beautiful bird. They are so beautiful when they fly. TFS.

Very cool! It's a great feeling when months/years of stalking pay off, isn't it?

I guess you know the feeling ....

This is probably one of the rare time when I don't wish for a 500mm lens: it would have been too close!
