Old Montana State Prison
Camera: K5 Photo Location: Deer Lodge, Montana
Posted By: Bob Harris, 08-20-2012, 09:28 PM

This is the old prison in Deer Lodge, a small town with a population of about 3500, but with a lot of interest in history. There is a group of museums in this town of which the prison is the largest and a modest $8 will gain entry into all of them. I have included a video, a bit lengthy and if interested click on Youtube link, but interesting to learn the history of the prison and other museums. On our travels we try to visit as many small towns as possible, we have found many treasures in them, people are friendly, crime is generally non existent and I hardly ever get lost.

What is Teri in for Bob and do you go visit every day? Hope she gets paroled soon. Interesting shots of an interesting place. Still waiting on those Tetons.

That's what happens when you try to sneak in, it will be a little over a week before we visit the Tetons the way it looks.

A good reminder it is better to be honest Dave, I doubt if there are many wonderful memories for the prisoners.

Interest pics: having testified in many a trial that resulted in the defendant going to prison for many, many years, I find prisons a rather interesting place. I've toured a few, always makes me wonder and reflect.....but I degress....very nice photos.

I think the modern prisoners have it made compared to back in the day prisons, your decisions probably saved many a future crime
