Yes, another flower + fish
Lens: Tamron 02B + MC7 2X Camera: Pentax K-5 Photo Location: Cottonwood, CA USA ISO: 1600

Bored stiff! Too much forest fire smoke to go outside so I went hunting in the house. Found this flower in a pot and figured, why not. Besides I wanted to see what ISO1600 would look like. No bad at all! This fish was just there.....

This fish was striking a pose I couldn't resist!

ISO 1600 is fine with the K5...so is 3200...and sometimes even higher works well enough to get you some needed speed.

Nice blooms, what are they, very unusual? The fish will have to grow a little.....or maybe a lot, to make a decent meal.

Regards!

Dunno Rupert, but it's an ugly plant covered with thorns.

Here's a pot taken at ISO 12,800! I was surprised!

I know the high ISO is good on the K-5 so I wasn't surprised. The flower and the leaves though came out so well. You can feel their velvety softness.

The plant is a "Crown of Thorns" I have one in my back yard. Supposedly the plant used to make a "Crown" on Jesus when he was carrying his cross to be crucified.

Slowpez, yes the blooms are very nice! The rest of the plant is a tad angry!

Den, your are correct! I didn't know, I just live here! The wife is the plant person, suppose I should have asked her!

daacon, thanks. I've never owned a camera that would allow such high ISO's. It's was all film so I was limited to ISO 1,600, unless I wanted to special order film. Even then the quality was iffy. This is a new experience, kinda nice!

Here's the plant: Taken with a Fuji X10
