Posted By: thomasjmpark, 01-30-2008, 06:22 AM

Hi,

Had a chance to try my new 50-135mm. I have to say i am vey impressed with it so far, cant wait to get into the mountains. Its so quiet when focusing! (am used to the grind of the Sigma 17-70)

Clearly a winner. This lens is so sharp that it makes one wonder about owning any primes in the same focal range. Prime like quality other than the increase speeds an FA 50 would offer. I was surprised at the size. Weight is great but it's bigger than I expected.
I had a chance to test drive one and someday....

#1 and 3 are great shots Btw. Now I'm getting thristy!

Looks like a winner. I'm envious. I really like the first shot and how that lens renders the local contrast and color.

Thanks everyone This lens is superb, all these shots were pretty much straight out the camera. It is ALOT bigger then I thought too, that ,plus thebattery pack, makes the whole package look huge!

WOW! I am green with envy. Congrats on the purchase Tom.

Pictures look very sharp. Are there any issues around focusing with this lens like there is around the other DA*? Must be whisper quiet to use. I am used to older AF that sound like a coffee grinder on a bad day.

Hi Jeff and thanks. I did have a little trouble with auto focusing on one shot but there was so much in the scene that I can let it off, apart from that its incredible. The focus is sooooo quiet i cant believe it.
