Flower Macro

This is my first post in this section. It's of a Strelitzia I think. Criticism appreciated.

I like the guessing exercise that macro photography can provide when you see enough of the object to think you know what it is, but not enough to stand in front of the class and blurt out your answer. I like this shot. I also like the balance of the left vertical line with the strong diagonal line. I have just finished reading 3 books on macro photography that all touched on this approach.

You have done it nicely but there are quite a few distracting elements within the frame. Very often, I would prefer available lighting for macro since colour control is rather difficult with flash.
