Astrophotography Messier 13 and 27
Lens: Celestron C8 telescope Camera: K-r ISO: 6400 Shutter Speed: Above 6s Aperture: F5.8

These are my first deep sky "keepers" since I started astrophotography one year ago. Getting lunar and solar photos was easy compared to these dimmer deep sky objects ... and I picked 2 relatively bright deep sky objects.

My telescope is 2000mm f10 with a focal reducer to reduce exposure times that makes it act more like 1280mm f6.3. It's on a motorized equatorial mount to prevent start trails. 30 second exposures at ISO 6400. I took a stack of 16 images using the intervalometer then processed them using software called Nebulosity.

I wish the built-in intervalometer allowed a way to go beyond 30 seconds. The K-r has no bulb connection to connect an aftermarket timer either. Oh well, I'll make sure to get that feature with my next camera.

Nice resolution of the Hercules Globular Cluster and excellent colour in the Dumbbell Nebula. Great work and thanks for sharing the photos and all the details of your setup and imaging techniques. It's always nice to have these images burned into your mind when you're viewing at the eyepiece!

That's great! Impressive photos! Great application of the photography hobby! You might even see a large chunk of rock heading our way!!! I figure more eyes looking around out there the better.
