An oldie but a goodie
Posted By: paden501, 01-30-2008, 08:01 PM

I just ran across this shot while going through my photos from the last 2-3 years. I couldn't stop looking at it so I decided to share.

Let me know what you think:

Setup: *istDL w/ FA 50/1.4 * F4.5 1/125s w/ Sunpak Auto26/DX fired straight up. Some contrast adjustment and sharpening in PS.

I can see why you like it. Interesting and unusual composition. Really great focus depth, detail, color, w/o being overdone at all. Very natural.

Thanks for the comments. I could only wish that all of my photos had some of the qualities that I caught by accident on this one.

Matthew, I really like the clarity. I know this is not the critique part of the forum but I think the b'ground is too chaotic and the foreground gets in the way of an otherwise very beautiful woman. I turned my head and kinda looked at it sideways - it made it easier to look at - I think.

You're probably right JC. This wasn't a posed shot or anything... we were actually taking pictures of my cat that night and watching a hockey game and I just took a quick snapshot of Beth. I really just posted it because I was suprised at how well it turned out for being just a simple shapshot.

Very nice shot. The only problem I see is with the Steelers stuff in the background. And yes, Franco did catch the ball on the ground.

I saw that in your flickr account and it is really lovely. The eyes flow through some intimacy there. Great shot
