Painted Lady and Red Admiral butterflies
Lens: Sigma 105mm f2.8 EX DG Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Local woods

I had to stand in the middle of a small stream to get these.
Pentax K-5/Sigma 105mm f2.8 EX DG/Sigma EM-140 DG,handheld manual focus.

Very nice. I can never get butterflies to sit still long enough to get a good shot. Well done.

amazing shots. what's your secret in getting the butterflies to stay still for you. i've been out and about the local wetlands lately, any butterflies i see, never stay still long enough to take a photo.
