Ants
Lens: Sigma 50mm macro Camera: Pentax K5 Photo Location: Malaysia ISO: 80 Shutter Speed: 1/180s Aperture: F11

im not sure what they are doing there.im not very good in identifying.

the lighting comes from a modified Pentax AF540 with a modified Pringles cannister and styrofoam plate.so it was a bit harsh.im quite new in macro, have just been trying recently.

hopefully I can get comments on how to get a better lighting for my shot.

You've done pretty damn well on these busy ants. I use an led ring light, just a cheapie I bought on ebay and works well at adding extra diffused light. I'm pretty inexperienced as well so hope some of the other members can share their tips.

What I have been having good luck with is using the K5's on board flash with my 100mm macro pentax lens. ISO 200 1/125 sec @ f/16 is a good starting point.--charliezap
