Cunningham Sunrise
Lens: smc Pentax 40mm f2.8 XS Camera: K-01 Photo Location: Cunningham Highway Gladfield, Queensland, Australia ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/500s Aperture: F9.5

Looking to Cunningham's Gap and the sunrise. We always look for somewhere to capture the sunrise when headed to my Mother In-laws and we thought it was a bust this morning, then I looked in the mirror and damn if this wasn't the place. This is a truck inspection pad and driver reviver spot west of the Gap. Didn't even have to wait long, out with the K-01, no time for the big boy or girl cameras this time.

Thanks. More luck than good planning though and at least you know I look in the rear view mirrors from time to time. We were heading west away from the sunrise.

Thanks Mate, appreciated. Just when you think you missed any worth while sunrise, bam it sneaks up behind you.

very nice Trev. I often think the same when driving over the Gap, but I don't like to stop until I get to where I'm going

Yeah, we do try and have some idea where the sunrise will be. Many years ago we captured a ball tearer from the top of Bolivia Hill south of Tenterfield, never repeated it though.

There is something about sunrises and sets, besides the warm colours, that really make it worth chasing the shots. This one was a little luck, but well worth stopping. With summer approaching down under we have to leave earlier and earlier to get to the spots for the sunrise on our trip to Annie's mum's.
