Upper Mesa Falls
Lens: 43 and 50-200mm Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Eastern Idaho
Posted By: Bob Harris, 09-09-2012, 09:24 PM

The falls are fed from the Snake River and are about 120 foot tall, located on Hwy 47 on the Mesa Falls Scenic Byway in the Targhee National Forest. Some views of the falls and the mist coming off of them. Thanks for looking, Bob

A lot of the rivers do have hydro plants Dave, but I think the Snake is one of the few that runs unobstructed.

We had a warm day, so viewing the falls was very refreshing. Then we had to walk back up the walkway to get back to the Jeep. Man I am out of shape.

I get vertigo watching water go over falls.......I got the sensation of vertigo looking at your pictures! Either my mental capacity is diminishing or your pictures are really good.....probably both!

Amazing!! That third shot makes me a little dizzy. Imagine being in a boat nearing the edge of that!!!! Wonderful shots, as always, Bob. I can almost hear the roar of the water from here.

we were really surprised at the amount of mist/spray that came from the falls. The Snake is a nice sized river and guess falling that far into a granite floor a lot of moisture is displaced. The mist actually went into the air at least 200 feet. Thanks for viewing/commenting, always appreciated. Bob

I certainly don't want to comment on your mental capacity, so lets just agree or blame the vertigo on the photos.
