Egmond Lighthouse
Lens: Sigma 8-16mm Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Egmond, the Netherlands ISO: 400 Aperture: F6.7
Posted By: newmikey, 09-14-2012, 02:23 AM

As the sun just set over the North-Sea, some of the fiery red light reflects of the pure white van Speijk lighthouse in Egmond, the Netherlands. One of the last working lighthouses, most of whom have been replaced by coastal radar and advanced electronics, it is still a monument standing on the very top of the dunes that protect the low country behind them from the sea. As the skies clearly show: summer is definitely over!

Great shot! The mood is perfect for the North sea......just how I remember it! Really appreciate the information you included. Great package. Can you visit the lighthouse? I mean go inside, climb to the top and see the lens?

Great job on this one, what are you using for your HDR processing? No sign of haloes!
