Landscape Sunset from the cliffs

Sunset from the cliffs · **1 Like**

Tripper and I hiked up the cliff so we could take afew pictures from the top of the rock face for what looked like it was going to be a fantastic sunset. The view from the top didn't disappoint. All these shots were taken at 18mm.

The first and last are my favorites, Norm!! Really outstanding shots. I think you provide a wonderful testimonial for the 18-135!

Thanks Jim... the last one was at the peak of the colour, that plus the wind and current patterns make it different.

#2 was looking away from the sun down the lake , and before the colours peaked, so much more pastel.. a different kind of image than the others for sure.

That was when I first fought my way through the brush to the edge of the ridge, I suspected there would be a better vantage point, there was actually a fairly well worn trail at the top, just not on the way up. SO I snapped a few pictures here before finding the look out. Those pictures with the backlit pines always seem to have an extra dimension.

I agree that you capture some wonderful shots with the 18-135. In fact your shots and posts about it helped me (along with some others) to decide to purchase one recently.

These shots are quite lovely. I especially love the first and last. They make me want to go hiking or jump into a canoe or kayak.

It's true civano... many of the best shots to be had are the product of either hiking or canoeing... it would be great if every lookout had a road going to it, but the simple fact is, most don't.
