I'm afraid I don't even know what that is? Could you explain?

Thanks

its a weird way to post process using Adobe Lightroom or CS3, very counter-intuitive

i found my own approach to it,

basicaly start off by putting the "blacks" and "fill light" scrollers all the way to 100, then start playiing around with the saturation settings to get rid of the very heavy blue or red tones that will most likely be present, and then start messing around with all the other settings until yoou get a really weird looking picture, such as this:

Tyler,

Great shots of a very sad place to be. I have shot the outside of some, but never had the guts to go in... I looks like someone spent at least one night there after it was abandoned, but it almost looks too clean to be an active drug house.

just my 2 cents.

Nice shots Tyler, did you use a tripod? And I echo dantuyhoa in that it might look even starker in B&W.

I did use a tripod on these, Salty. I'm pretty steady, but not that steady

Heres one with a quick b/w conversion. Desaturate then a quick curves adjustment layer.

I think I like the B&W one better. What do you think?

I like it as well. I need to go through all these and do a better b/w convserion, but yeah I really like them in b/w. Fits the of the images better.

Hey, you got the address for this place? My wife and I have saved enough money for some better digs and I thought we might give this place a closer look.

Seriously, an interesting and - in a way - a disturbing series. I like the B&W conversion, but B&W is pretty conventional for this sort of thing - the color version almost magnifies the starkness in this case.

A great job.

It's a good series but I'm sort of with Sailor on this the B&W's work wel enough but the colour versions hit you harder somehow. Good stuff though!

Thanks for the comments Sailor and Peter. I really appreciate them.

The one thing I'm happy about with these is how well the kit lens performed at 18mm albeit stopped down to f11. Just shows what even the most inexpensive Pentax glass can do.

I particularly like the last one, of the nails. It gives a very lonely feel to things. People often dismiss the assorted kit lenses but you can do some really good work with them.
