Lovely. The petals look like velvet.

I've noticed that red challenges digital cameras, so I tend to avoid the color! Why that particular set of pictures turned out is a mystery to me. There was absolutely no processing done other than cropping. I concluded it was the early moring sun filtered through the smoke from local wild fires! Whatever, it worked and all five shots turned out nice!

Thanks slowpez. I do an annual calendar every year for family. The calendar contains just my photos and all family birthdates, annaversies, etc. Anyhoo, Wifie informed me the red rose and sunflower were to be included in the 2014 calendar! 2013 has already been printed.

I too have trouble with the reds, but you nailed this one and I love the softness here, just as it should be. Fires, OH NO, that is not what the s/w needs. I noticed a bit of haze moving into Zion two days ago, lets hope we all get a good rain

I dunno Bob, everything you post is pretty damn good! I don't always comment but sure enjoy following you around! Being stuck on this place for fire season gets tedious, so your photos allow us to see some different country. This has been a particularly long fire season and it's not over yet!
