stick insect
Lens: vivitar macro 105 Camera: k5 Photo Location: singapore ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/90s Aperture: F11

My first encounter of a stick insect, I believe, which has fallen from above, into the web of the spider. I happened to be at the spider's web when the incident happened and shortly thereafter, you could see the spider appearing for its meal, very fast..

The stick insect is about 6 inches in length and I got it removed from the web to ground zero for some portrait taking and released it back to the wild again

Hey, you deprived that spider of her dinner! I believe that insect is called a Walking Stick - really amazing camouflage. Nice captures.

Good catch. We have them here, but they are a little smaller than that.

Thank You, Paul. This stick insect is listed as endangered species and I am doing my bit to conserve nature..If its a housefly or mosquito, its good riddance.

thanks.. I have never seen one over the years of my macro. This is unique, real life walking stick.

Thanks for your compliment. It was at gournd zero that the portriaits were takenand I took quite a number of shots on this alone not in macro mode as it was abt 6 inches in length.
