Trying to catch the leaves in their fall turn, we've had some smokey haze from a wildfire that mucks up the long shots but not much I can do about that!

Wonderful! Your second shot is amazing! Beautiful! Reminds me of fresh apples and jerky! As a kid Fall always meant long hikes with apples and jerky in my pockets!

Like that second one a lot also, but have you tried brightening the landscape up by .5 or 1 EV? It seems a tad underexposed to me.
