Bald Eagle Portrait
Posted By: palmor, 02-02-2008, 09:02 PM

I recently realized that I had never posted my Alaska photos here (I did at the other forums). I'll try to post some of those soon . This one is from the trip that I just got around to processing.. its fun when you can go back and find something that you didn't process that is a decent photo.

Comments welcome. If you want to take a look at the Alaska photos before I post just follow the link to my pbase account in my sig and they are under the Alaska Gallery (of course hehe)

Agreed. Excellent shot. Even with a 400mm you must have been very close. Love the eyes.

Great photo! Looks like he (she?) could stare down anyone or anything that stood in its way.

Thanks

Great eagle photo! It is the kind of eagle picture that I wish I had in my photo blog (Eagleview). Wonderful color!

Well no wonder. Look at the shot. it's all wrong. The Eagle should have been better groomed and had his feathers all straight and laying down flat. He also seems to have an attitude. When you shoot anones portrait, you should be trying to get a flattering image and not the bad attitude side.
Colours are too nice, picture is too sharp. Same old subject...

Who the hell is judging this site now????? If that can't make it, then the rest of us may as well stick to family snap shots...

Again a great image and all that matters it you like it. Doesn't hurt your peers here like the shot as well.

Thanks guys I'm guessing (and someone else mentioned this) that it was probably the blown highlights in the feathers, but who knows. It is impossible to tell these days what will make it and what won't.

Thanks again
