I'm no Tom Lusk.....

but I did get out and find some wildlife and an old cabin. Didn't get anywhere near as close as he does so I didn't feel their breath fogging my lens.

Saw three does near a spring fed warm pond and was excited, then a bit further along came across a whole herd of mule deer with a 3X2 rack buck and harem, then a little further along came across a 2X3 buck with his harem. All total saw about 40 deer. Later started seeing pheasants but these birds were very skittish so quality shots were hard to come by. Also got to see two mountain jays, 2 group of 2 ravens, magpie, 3 hawks. All in all a good day for wildlife.

Hand held DA 50-200, cropped to minimize photo overhead load.

Don't sell yourself short; Tom couldn't find a buck - you did!

Nice shots - I like the pheasants, too.

I'd agree, don't sell yourself short. This is a great series and you captured the deer well. I really like these. The pheasant shots are great and I like the buck hiding in the bush.

Well thank you all for your kind comments.

I felt pretty privileged to see so much wildlife within a 5 mile stretch and even more excited to have them stick around long enough for me to get a few bunches of shots.

Had some interesting ones of butts in the air going away as they all got it in their mind that I was too close and becoming a threat.

Very nice work, Clarence. They are shot artisticly. Almost like paintings that are hung up in gallery!

Clarence, very nice series. Nice capture of the buck in the brush, but I have to agree with others that the hen pheasant is a really nice shot!!
