the Grandeur of Bryce Canyon
Photo Location: Utah
Posted By: Bob Harris, 09-21-2012, 09:52 PM

Bryce Canyon, famous for its unique geology, consists of a series of horseshoe-shaped canyons carved from the eastern edge of the Paunsaugunt Plateau. The erosional force of frost-wedging and the dissolving power of rainwater have shaped the colorful limestone rock into bizarre shapes, including slot canyons, windows, fins, and spires called "hoodoos". We spent the day visiting this fascinating National Park , a 200 mile day trip, and this is the first upload this evening. I left the road on the upper left in the photo to give some scale. Where the photo was taken, we were at 9100 feet.

Bob, here it 0115 and no remarks?? You have the most difficult job in the USA, driving your house around the country seeing and photographing some of the most beautiful sites on this place we call home. Another awesome shot. TFS Cliff

thank you so much Cliff, we are still enjoying our travels, breaking camp each time gets a little old but there is always another adventure down the road. Leaving Wednesday for Valley of Fire in Nevada.

Thanks bud, we have visited here several times over the years and each time just amazed at these formations. You and Connie are going to have to get in that Porsche and come see for yourselves, shouldn't take too long in that machine.
