A photo I could not give up on...

Journal Excerpt:

August, 29, 2012

To sit in the quiet solitude of morning stills the self, opens the mind to see, the heart to feel the mystery and beauty of Other. Today I rest on a bouldery point looking east into a small bay between Islands. A cacophony of Loons cry; a Bald Eagle flies close overhead, something small clutched in its talons. A mist floats in --- golden gossamer blankets the landscape. The camera calls.

Cool - I enjoy the spectral quality of this one very much, something that would be lost - I think - with color.

Truly exquisite, Tess! I'm speechless. Almost! The light is truly magnificent and your journal entry is so fitting for this shot. I don't know what's better - your photography or your writing!!

excellent ! ... particularly like the unusually straight ripple pattern on the water and the way you've caught the light in it.
cheers

I would like to thank everyone for the kind and generous comments on my photo and poem. I did not give up on the image because it was such a magical view, soft subtle golden mist with vibrant sparkles of green peeking out between the shadowy silhouettes of trees and rocks. Yet the original photo was garish in its colours and tones, too dark on the left, blasted on the right. A conversion to black and white gave me hope and I worked it till I got something I liked, and still I was not sure if it had any power...so thank you for taking the time to comment and to let me know how it affected you... and I am also glad you enjoyed the writing. I get so much inspiration here on the Pentax Forum. I am forever grateful!
