....in a day. It's only a 2 hour drive one way provided that one does not stop for pictures. Took us the better part of a day to do the round trip. The weather was really lousy, cold, drizzle and low hanging clouds but since we can't change the weather we made the best of it. Here are a few samples of what we saw:

Comments are always welcome amd appreciated.

Nice pics, I love the last one of the bridge. I looked up the carcross desert, it sounds interesting. I had never heard of it before.

It's the third one that really seems to capture the landscape the best. Nice flowers in the foreground and a misty mountain in the back. And almost no sign of civilization.

Well I've wondered when you would post some photos Heinrich, although overcast the clouds spilling onto the mountains is quite beautiful. I love the road with the barricades leading towards the mountain. The steam engine is a wonderful catch, always a favorite to view. Keep them coming, we will be watching for your next adventure down the road.

Yep, I have recently decided there is no bad weather for taking photos and your images show me again that this is true. Beautiful rich colours and the clouds are extradordinary. Thanks so much for showing us some of your day. I will go have a look at your album

Thanks for looking and commenting. The Carcross Desert I believe is classified as the worlds smallest true desert.

Take care,

Thank you for the kind comments, except for the road and the railroad and the border station there is no civilization.

Take care,

Hi Bob and thank you. I am way behind with processing, there is just not enough time to do anything or could it possibly be that I am a lot slower than I used to be?

Take care,

Thank you Tess, truth be known I don't really mind the rainy weather, made up my mind long ago that what I can't change won't bother me besides that sometimes the colors are really nice when it's overcast.

Take care,

Great series. #3 I like. Normally I would shun the boom gates but here you have used them to great effect. #4 with the band of coloured flowers is a great composition.

The weather may have been crappy but those shots are gorgeous! I especially love the low cloud rolling over the mountain tops in photos 2 and 3.

Love the landscapes in 2, 3, and 4. You made the most of the bad weather. Sure didn't affect your images. Nice series.
