A fair amount of fretting over the camera position (mostly by my sister who told me I should drive down for this).

I wanted to be on the hill on the other side of the bridge (as everyone else did) shooting across the bridge toward San Francisco (and into the sun). However, the bottom of the road was coned off and parking was a mess. Circled down into Fort Baker and it worked out pretty well.

Now thats something you would not see everyday.you were at the right spot at the right time for these. And having the famous bridge underneath makes the images even better.Great effort!!

Awesome pictures, I especially like the 4th to last the most and that's out of all the excellent shots.

My old eyes or ...
In three and four there appear to be vertical stabilizer on the elevators of the Boeing. In five and six, they appear to be well behind the tail section. Optical illusion?

Thanks to everyone for the nice comments.

Because the stabilizer slants back, the apparent location of the vertical tips will look different depending on the angle.

let's just say I thought the thing was going to fly over the bay bridge so i set up at Yerba Buena Island and it was a tiny little speck in the sky.
