one from early summer and one from last week
Lens: DA 40mm limited Camera: k-5 Photo Location: front yard

I was thinking about the end of summer and onset of fall. Poppies remind me of summer.

field of gold

The change of season brings on a rush to capture those scenes that we now know are fleeting. Below is the last rose on one of our roses. I shot this with my 77 mm Limited which I usually reserve for portraiture. I've tried in the past to use it for other subjects, but have not liked the softness. I like how this one came out.

So simple yet so sweet.

I love the poppies but the rose is so drop dead gorgeous that it overpowers the poppies. Wonderful shot.

Very beautiful, both, and the rose is perfect but I love the field of poppies, the seed pods in the foreground, the poppy in focus the bokeh behind it... just a lovely artistic shot.

Hey Tess--Thanks for commenting. It's interesting how some images appeal more than others. I like them both but for different reasons.
