Sweet Fox On The Run
Lens: DA* 60-250 Camera: K5 Photo Location: Waterton,Alberta ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/60s Aperture: F6.7

We headed out early one morning to capture Cameron Falls at sunrise, so of course I had on a wide lens (probably the DA* 16-50). As we drive to the falls I see two foxes running up the hill. It was very cool and these are beautiful animals. There was no chance to capture them that time but still cool to see. As we were done with the falls I slapped on the DA* 60-250 just in case. I see some people standing on the side of road and they mention they see a fox ! A new opportunity !!!

Of course I already had a decent lens on, but did not adjust any of the settings I get out of the car and there he is darting across the field. I get one change to nail him before he gets into the cover of the forest. With all my technique and skill I failed miserably Missed the focus all together. I almost deleted it, then I started to play with it to give it that 'yeah I meant to shoot this as an artistic look' (I mean anyone can get a perfectly focused shot haha).

Anyway I quite like the way it turned out despite all the technical flaws.

I like the way it turned out too Dave. Great sense of motion and the brown grasses blend in so well with the fox.

I'm glad you posted this. Really cool shot! As you said, it's such a beautiful animal.
This really does have an artistic (and sort of spooky) look. Awesome picture!
